Veritable Brandenburg concerto of noise pollution, Wasteland's extraordinary alchemy was revealed in concert at Haekem Brussels, in a scintillating video environment by Gérard Daval. They first came together as a foursome at Tempo al Tempo Festival 2016 in Brussels, and were instantly aware of their affinities, plus an observation: their “baroque” instrument types (flute, oboe, hichiriki, guitars and primitive electronics) could be put to use in a luminous, archaic landscape where dada death rattles penetrate feeling and the mind voyages on an unspeakable threshold of tremors with vertiginous reptilian speed.
